Do I have H1N1, the flu, or a virus? Ok, so I live on campus (I'm a college freshman) and there has been something going around and I think I finally got it. I haven't been to the doctor, because I don't have transportation, but if I'm not feeling any better by tomorrow I am going to the nurse on campus. But I just wanted to know if this sounds like the flu or another type of virus?
I started feeling bad Sunday (Valentine's Day). My throat was hurting. By Monday, my throat and head was hurting and by yesterday I was just horrible.
As of today these are my symptoms:
- a sore throat (with swollen lymph nodes)
- a horrible headache (it feels like a migraine)
- an achy back and neck (its to the point if I hold my head up for long my neck starts throbbing in pain)
- I'm really weak and have no energy
- a runny nose and I'm sneezing occasionally
- little to no appetite
- I feel nauseous after I eat (i te a Chick-Fil-A sandwhich earlier and didn't feel sick though)
- I'm extremely sleepy/tired
- I'm always cold, but will sometimes have random hot flashes
I've been sleeping as much as I can, but I have to attend my classes. I have also been taking 2 ibuprofen every 4 to 6 hours and drinking orange juice. But nothing seems to be helping. What do you guys think? | | what about a fever? a high fever is one of the bigger symptoms of H1N1. although, it could be the regular flu or even a bad cold. but even if you go to the nurse, you have to realize there's little they can do for you. they may not even be able to give you tamiflu. the best thing IS rest and plenty of fluids (water too, not just orange juice). and talk to your teachers, i'm sure they'd understand. |
