What butch lesbians hate their partners to do? My butch lesbian gf recently seems to be avoiding me. I have no previous relationship with lesbians and I am unexperienced in handling butches.
I feel that she may be offended because sometimes I see her as as girl..? And I even told her wear a dress or skirt as a joke. And I refused to let her send me home.
Did i really offended her..? If not for what other possible reasons she is avoiding me..? |
Just because she is butch doesnt mean she doesnt think of herself as a girl. Being a girl is not limited to wearing dresses, and make up and having long flowing hair. You probably did make her uncomfortable by the comments. I'm what you'd call a soft butch, and I hate when people suggest I wear a dress because its like they are telling me to be someone i'm not.
I'd definitly talk to your gf and try to understand that sometimes acting and dressing the way you want to is a very difficult thing, and even jokes can hurt. She might be having a hard time with it and needs your support right now rather than jokes, even though i'm sure you didnt mean it in an insensitive way. A cute little tease is fine now and then, but only when she feels comfortable enough to know you are playing around with her and love her for who she is. I think you need to talk to her about it. |
Is there more police women as lesbians than normal female population? I mean percentage wise.
This is my long suspicion. ( I am talking about the type of police women in North America, not the type that wears skirt as in France or East Asia.) |
Hmmm - well, I've worked with some security fems who DEMANDED THE RIGHT to wear trousers, even though their issue was a very attractive set of skirts and culottes, similar to British police.
They got them, too - nobody wanted to be beaten up over a skirt (hmmm??).
Personally, I found the majority of such people to be borderline, to say the least, in terms of true efficiency. |
What is the purpose of skirts, for male pleasure or do women really like them? I'm talking about skirts and miniskirts or skirts just above the knee too. I've been wondering.
If you think about it, do they really serve a purpose? I always hear that women are more comfortable with their Jeans. So why they still wear skirts.
Besides men or lesbians looking at women's legs and having mental pleasure out of that, i don't see the purpose of showing skin when girls really don't want to show skin( most girls don't) OR shapely legs( as when wearing skirts but also using stockings).
I love girls and women in skirts but i don't know, it seems they don't want to wear them so why do they still do it? |
| it makes them feel girly and flity! ;) |
Which do you prefer butch of femme lesbians? which are you? this question is for lesbians or possibly bi women. I'm wondering which i am, because i mean i don't wear dresses or skirts, or makeup. but i don't dress in mens clothing. i like looking like a woman. i only go easy on the girly getup sometimes because its impractical. which am i ? and can i get a femme lesbian attracted to my casual style? |
| I like skirts, heels the whole girlie girl thing. I must be an "ultra lipstick femme" from reading every one else's answers. My attraction is to girls that look like girls, though I have never dated a girl that owned more shoes than I do. |
Do Women get turned on when they see other Women in tight clothing, Mini skirts, etc? Even if you're not lesbian or bi. Do you get turned on?
The female mind is different than the male one soooo i'm not sure about this.. but seems many Women are becoming bicurious so it's not hard to imagine that they could get turned on by a beautiful girl.
Wha'ts your take? |
Not "turned on" like a man would... but they do notice.
And they can say 'she looks hot', as a nod to the attraction.
But, in nowhere near your growing 'bi-curious'sociological study/fantasy.
That's the stuff of MTV dating shows & Howard Stern for 20 years. |
Dont you think guys should wear skirts more often? guys in skirts should be like the next fashion trend x]
not that it turns me on or anything (i'm a lesbian), it sounds cool.
i mean trends seems to go and come back and it was normal for guys to wear skirts long time ago. |
Absolutely! You are right of course. Men can and do look really good in skirts. It need not be a Kilt. A Kilt IS a SKIRT by definition so call it what it really is...a Skirt! Kilts are just a particular "style" of skirt that is costly, hot, heavy, and ugly in my opinion. Forget them!
Men just haven't learned about skirts and how cool they really are (pun intended). A mini skirt on a hot day is far cooler than shorts and much more accommodating for men than women! NO crotch seams for the first time ever! Men are hung up with phobias which prevent them from trying on a skirt...sad. Women are much more open minded and have adopted pants which were for men only not that long ago yet women still look like women when wearing pants. The guys just don't get it...They don't realize that a guy in a skirt will still look like a guy. Men have to lose their homophobia before it will happen. A guy secure in his sexuality will have no problem wearing a skirt. This is something women need to understand before they ruin their lives living with a homophobe. In 70% of the world skirts are an alternative to pants for men. It is just the western world that is still hung up with their Puritanical Victorian Era beliefs yet men have worn skirts for thousands of years.
Check these sites to realize that a guy in a skirt is no big deal and that a skirt will serve as an useful alternative to pants in many situations. (obviously not all).
About a thousand regular guys in skirts:

Info for those who say nay to a mini skirt: The average mini sold in family department stores for girls and women the length that is generally thought to be acceptable is 12 inches long... guess what....that happens to be the same length as standard men's gym shorts! A micro mini at about 10 inches long just happens to be the same length as most men's running shorts today so the lesson here is "mini" does NOT mean TOO short!
Most women know (men generally don't) that leg mobility is best with a short skirt. No leg movement restriction.
Perhaps if the guys have any b@lls at all this year given a little courage (hint hint girls) they will give a skirt a shot as a replacement for shorts on a hot summer day and I guarantee they won't want to give up the skirt. The "sensation" for guys is tremendous but generally not known to men. Guys..most women have no problem with a guy in a skirt (of course homophobia is not exclusive to men so some won't agree) but in general women find a guy in a skirt "intriguing" so wise up guys!
Gays do not wear skirts! (only seen on TV and in movies).
Gays want to look like other guys...scheesh where did that idea come from? It takes a real man to wear a skirt (A man secure in his sexuality).
You are right..Skirts for guys are likely to be the next really big fashion change on the horizon but it will take women like you to hold the hand of these "tough," "insecure," "homophobic" guys to let them know that a "guy in a skirt" is not less of a man to make it happen...
The trend could also start once men have the guts to try on a skirt...they will immediately realize what they have been missing all these years! The difference between wearing skirts and pants is great and more so for men than women due to anatomy alone...something women will never understand...
PS: There are plenty of plain (non girlie) cargo skirts (lots of pockets and belt loops) that can be had in Juniors sizes (fit guys due to the hips not being too big). These fit perfectly as is without modifications and are cheap and available. (www.ebay.com search for cargo skirt...some are perfect.
Can a man wear a skirt?

Most women prefer skirts in summer for comfort. Girls, have you ever thought of men?

Do girls not so feminine have to wear a dress or skirt at graduation? because my school said that girls have to wear a dress or a skirt but they didn't say anything about what butch lesbians should wear and there's no way im wearing a dress or a skirt. Im a butch lesbian and i have never worn a dress or skirt in my life. |
It depends on the school. If it's public, then I don't think they can do anything to you if you don't want to wear a skirt.
In private schools, you must follow the guidelines though; they might not let you graduate if so. |
Would straight women ever embrace the fashion sense of "butch" lesbians? The media has given much attention to the “metrosexual” trend where straight men concerned with their appearance seem to adopt or display the fashion lifestyle tendencies of stereotypical gay men.
Could the reverse ever happen where straight women adopt/display the fashion lifestyle tendencies of stereotypical “butch” lesbian women?
Some argue that society perpetuates unhealthy, unrealistic, unnecessary and uncomfortable images of female beauty, in the form of dresses/skirts, makeup, excessive jewelry, long hair, bikini swimsuits, or high-heeled shoes, and that most straight women are brainwashed into conforming to such images, mostly for the benefit of attracting men.
Do you think butch lesbians may actually be on to something with their “lower maintenance” fashion sense?
Or do some women genuinely enjoy wearing lipstick or wearing fancy dresses? |
i think women do enjoy feeling pretty by wearing dresses and makeup. however, im not sure if the reason they feel pretty is because they know that men will find them more attractive.
it seems like there has been a slight trend in fashion anyway, towards more masculine styles. ive notices a lot of mens suits-inspired wide-leg trousers, suspenders, vests, and dress shirts. this tends to be more high fashion though. i dont know if the average girl on the street might be ready to embrace these trends.
If you remember when the feminist movement was more active, during the 70s and 80s, women did tend to favor shorter haircuts and masculine clothing. do you remember shoulder pads? i dont know if it was for their own convenience or that it was something meant to prove that they could feel and look as powerful as a man.
its harder for women to be taken seriously in positions of power.. they do have to maintain a certain femininity while at the same time conveying authority.
to attempt to answer your question, yes, women do those things mainly to attract men. unfortunately i dont think that will ever change. of course, butch lesbians dont have to attract men, but i think they have their own sense of style that is more likely to attract other lesbians. i think that everyone dresses a certain way to convey who they are and to attract the type of person who will find that style attractive. |
What exactly do ppl mean when (even other lesbians say) you look straight? My hair is long so I wear it in different styles
I wear pants, jeans, dresses, and skirts
I usually don't wear flats since I'm short but occasionally sneakers
I'm not into labels but I guess I'd be classified as femme maybe even lipstick
I do enjoy girly things
I wear makeup but not a lot |
Stereotyping, course they'd think a lesbian can only look one way only misinformed people think that way. Geez, when did sexual orientation relate to how you look and dress.
You sound fashionable, and happened to be gay what's the big deal? |
Do two feminine lesbians only exist in the movies? Why do I keep seeing a female in male gender roles claiming to be feminist and female and lesbian?
I'm just curious.
I wear dresses, skirts, and makeup. Does that mean I could never be with another pretty feminine girl? I also have dark hair and ONLY like blondes or Maybe, I might like shorter girls or even plump, as that would be different from my slender frame. But I'm pretty strict about the blonde thing. I don't know why. It's not on purpose! Brunettes look too much like ME (in the mirror) or my sister, and it creeps me out beyond words. I feel very sinful and dirty then. But somehow, blondes are just,,... deliciously sinful lusty...
I'm bisexual , please don't' hate me for that too. Guys have treated me very poorly in the past (including my own father)... I guess I would be the typical guy hating (almost) lesbian. not so fond of men.
Lesbians do not like bisexuals???
I'm not 100% against the "butch" look, but I rather enjoy the male/female gender roles. Is that so awful? I'd probably need someone more aggressive than me to draw me out of my shy lesbian virgin shell!!! Are feminine lesbians ever aggressive???
Please tell me! I'd like some help please!!! |
| I'm pretty "femme" and so was my last girlfriend. She was also bi. So...I'm pretty much disagreeing with your whole message :P |
